PetKnow Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and PetKnow ("we", "us") for your use of PetKnow ("the app"). By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. 

1. What PetKnow is

PetKnow helps you record and organise information about your pets, including medications, appointments and health history, and sends reminders. It is a record-keeping and reminder tool only.

2. Not veterinary advice

PetKnow does not provide veterinary advice, diagnosis or treatment.Information in the app, including emergency guidance, links and third-party content, is general and may not suit your pet. Always follow your vet's instructions, and in an emergency contact a vet immediately. Reminders can fail (for example if notifications are off or your device is switched off), so do not rely on them as your only safeguard for critical medication.

3. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use the app (and have a parent or guardian's permission if you are under the age of majority where you live). Give accurate information, keep your login secure, and tell us if you think your account has been accessed without permission. You are responsible for activity under your account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, including by trying to access other users' data, reverse engineering or interfering with the service, scraping it with automated tools, uploading unlawful or harmful content, or using it for any unlawful purpose.

5. Your content

You own the information and photos you add. You give us permission to store and process them solely to run the app for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the right to upload what you add.

6. Free plan, ads and PetKnow Premium

• The free plan includes up to two pets and displays ads.
• PetKnow Premium is an auto-renewing subscription that removes ads and allows unlimited pets. The price and billing period are shown in the app before you subscribe.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Manage or cancel in your Apple ID account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. This does not affect any statutory rights you have as a consumer.

7. Third-party services

The app uses third-party services (including Apple, Supabase and Google). Their own terms apply to your use of them. Links to other sites or videos are provided for convenience and we are not responsible for their content.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the app running but cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, add or remove features, and we may update these terms; if changes are material we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use the app after changes means you accept them.

9. Intellectual property

The app, its design and its content (other than yours) belong to us or our licensors. You may use it for personal, non-commercial purposes under a limited, revocable licence. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies to your use of the app.

10. Our liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for loss of data you have not backed up elsewhere, or for decisions made about your pet's care, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time (Profile → Delete Account). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Subscriptions are cancelled through Apple.
